Young people bored stiff with politics

Young people are "turned off" off by politics according to a report published at the end of February by the right wing think tank, the Adam Smith Institute (ADI).

Using poles conducted by market research analysts, MORI, the report acknowledges that 40 per cent of those under 25 are not even on the electoral register.

In their report entitled "The Big Turn Off", authors Madsen Pirie, ADI's president and Robert Worcester, chairman of MORI, said: "Today's young people say they are not interested in politics and do not regard political activity as worthwhile. They know little about the institutions of government."
